How are data types converted?

Numerical data types are automatically converted to the matching data type that serves as the input value for a function.

When calculating, you can mix value units, for example, use a duration in days, hours, and minutes in a formula. The units are converted during the calculation and the result is shown in the appropriate unit.

A conversion is also carried out if the result is a very large number and an appropriate unit is available. For example, 1000 minutes is 16 hours and 40 minutes.

All conversions are also available for conditional formatting.
