Select SAP options
To enable data to be exchanged between ARIS and SAP® systems, you must specify the following settings. In addition, you can enable a wizard to create structural elements, executables, and documents.
To synchronize data between ARIS and SAP® Solution Manager and run executables with SAP® Solution Manager 7.2, ensure that project configurations or solution configurations have been created.
If you want to make executables also available in ARIS, make sure to use SAP® Solution Manager 7.2. The former version is not supported.
Click ARIS > Options. The Options dialog opens.
Click SAP ® options > Select server on the Selection tab.
If you want to run executables without SAP Solution Manager, ensure that the correct path to the saplogon.ini file or the SAPUILandscape.xml file is specified in the Path to INI/XML file box.
Disable the Use default server for running executable check box.
Uses the server that you defined as the default server each time you run an executable (Default server button).
If you disable this check box, the server that is entered in the SAP Server system attribute will be used. If this attribute is not specified, the default server is also used.
Click SAP ® options > Solution Manager on the Selection tab, and enable the Open supporting dialog check box.
The dialog assists you in creating new structural elements, executables, and documents. This ensures that the consistency rules are met and that synchronization is performed correctly.
If you use solution configurations or project configurations and run executables with SAP® Solution Manager, enable the Run executables with SAP® Solution Manager check box.
Make sure to select the required ARIS component that will connect to the SAP system.
Select the ARIS server option if you are using a private cloud or you have installed ARIS server and you are using ARIS download client or locally installed ARIS clients. If a connection fails because of firewall restrictions or a VPN tunnel cannot be established, you must install ARIS Connector for SAP Solutions. Note that using ARIS Designer for accessing SAP systems in local or private cloud scenarios is not recommended and must not be used for synchronizing productive data. If the connection breaks down, this will result in inconsistent data. If your company has a strict network separation within the own environment, you can select the ARIS Designer option for test purposes or to synchronize a small number of data only.
Only if you currently use a public cloud surrounding and you want to expand to ARIS Advanced, you can select the ARIS Designer option to test the SAP synchronization.
Specify the relevant settings and click OK.
The options are saved.
