Create variants for individual objects
You can create variants of individual items.
Prerequisite
The item for which you want to create a variant has already been saved.
Right-click the item and hold down the mouse button.
Drag the mouse pointer to the position where you want to place the variant.
Release the mouse button. The pop-up menu is displayed.
Click Create variant here.
The variant is created.
Select one or more objects in the model.
Right-click in the selection and select
Copy.Right-click. The pop-up menu opens.
Click Paste as>
Variants. A preview frame is displayed.Click the position where you want to paste the variants.
The objects will be pasted as variants.
Click ARIS >
Explorer. The Explorer tab opens.In the relevant database, navigate to the item of which you want to create a variant.
Right-click the item and hold down the mouse button.
Drag the mouse pointer to the group in which you want to place the variant.
Release the mouse button. The pop-up menu is displayed.
Click Create variant here. The Create variant dialog opens.
Specify your settings.
Click OK.
The variant is created.
Click ARIS >
Explorer. The Explorer tab opens.In the relevant database, navigate to the group containing the objects that you want to create as variants.
Select the relevant objects in the Details pane.
Right-click in the selection and select
Copy.Right-click the group in which you want to create the variants. The pop-up menu opens.
Click Paste as > Create variant here. The Create variants dialog opens.
Specify your settings.
Click OK.
The variants are created.
