What has changed?
When you transfer BPML diagrams, the behavior of the automatic lane assignment changed. Previously, the Lane object type was used. The change affects all customers who used diagrams of the System subtype. Even if no specific role was selected, a lane of type Application system is now used. ARIS may contain two object definitions. One has a Lane symbol without an occurrence in a model. The other as a lane of the Application system type with an occurrence in the model.
SAP discontinued standard support (mainstream maintenance) for SAP Solution Manager 7.1 on December 31, 2017. Therefore, as of April 2023, ARIS will no longer support SAP Solution Manager 7.1. We strongly recommend using SAP Solution Manager 7.2 or SAP CALM instead.
You can connect to SAP® Solution Manager 7.2 without using a VPN tunnel. Therefore, install ARIS Connector for SAP Solutions.
You can consolidate Business process step originals and manage the mapping of Business process steps to corresponding Process step originals.
You can delete all diagrams from the SAP system using the SAP synchronization, which were uploaded from ARIS but are no longer related to any ARIS model.
You can transfer models of the Enterprise BPMN collaboration diagram or Enterprise BPMN process diagram type to the SAP system. These diagrams can contain more than one pool.
You can start the SAP synchronization for new elements that you added to your branch in ARIS.
Attributes of a Business process step automatically affect the Process step original if you create a Business process step without specifying a corresponding Process step original. In this case, the Process step original is automatically created and mapped.
You can transfer formatted descriptions from the SAP System to ARIS. However, if you transfer these elements back to the SAP system, the layout is lost. In SAP Solution Manager, descriptions are displayed as plain text.
ARIS can be used in combination with SAP® Enable Now.
ARIS for SAP Solutions can be made available in public cloud scenarios. To do so, enable the ARIS Designer option in the SAP ® options > Solution Manager option page.
The logging process of actions has changed.
All exceptions and calls to the SAP system are logged to the default client log file. Content that failed to be submitted to the SAP system is logged on the client machine. Log files are stored in the default java client directory. The file names contain the prefix sm72 and suffix .json.
Because information about downloaded and uploaded branch content can no longer be determined, errors are directly reported in message dialogs.
After the synchronization is completed and all <a_server> actions are logged, ARIS Designer actions are logged as well. The client log file contains messages concerning the data transfer of branch content to the SAP system and messages concerning the handling of documents. Both the client log file and the server log file are merged and stored by the ARIS server. You can open the log file within the project or branch configuration.
